CC aims to get back in the win column

Women's Soccer Weekly Release No. 4>

Colorado College looks to get back in the win column for the first time since Aug. 17 when it opens a four-game home stand against non-conference opponents this weekend. The Tigers play host to Bryant University and Robert Morris University for the first time on Friday afternoon and Sunday morning, respectively.

CC enters Friday's contest with a 1-1-3 record after playing to a 2-2 tie against the University of Utah and suffering its first loss of the season by a 2-0 count on Saturday at BYU. The Tigers are 0-0-2 at Stewart Field so far this year.

Bryant dropped to 3-2-0 overall and 1-1-0 on the road after falling 2-1 at Rhode Island on Sunday. Robert Morris takes an 0-5-1 record into Friday's game at Air Force. The Colonials, who dropped a 2-1 decision to Duquesne at home last Sunday, are 0-3-0 on the road.

The Colorado College offense features sophomore Jessie Ayers, the reigning Conference USA Midfielder and Freshman of the Year, with five points (2g/1a). She also leads the team with 18 total shots and eight shots on frame. Sophomore forward Jaclyn Silsby is next with three points (1g/1a).

Senior forward Brittney Lyman became the 13th player in CC history to reach the 20-goal plateau when she scored during the 52nd minute at Northern Colorado on Aug. 24. She also moved into a tie for 19th place on the program's all-time points list with 44. Lyman holds the CC record for goals in a single game with five against UTEP on Oct. 30, 2009.

Freshman Kate Scheele has played all 510 minutes in goal and currently owns a 1.06 goals-against average and a .806 saves percentage.

Junior defender Kecia Morway, who played two years at Notre Dame, and Scheele are the only Tigers who have played all 510 minutes so far this season. Freshman forward Carina Lauzon has appeared in four games, while freshman midfielder Alexis Long has played in three contests and leads the first-year field players with 124 minutes.

Colorado College's nine-game non-conference schedule includes matches against opponents from seven different conferences: Big Sky (Northern Colorado), Big West (Pacific), Northeast (Bryant and Robert Morris), Pac-12 (Colorado and Utah), Patriot League (Colgate), WAC (Denver), West Coast (BYU).

The Tigers play their final two non-conference games of 2012 next week when Pacific and Colgate invade Stewart Field on Friday and Sunday, respectively.
