The Tigers look to utilize some home-ice charm this Thanksgiving weekend when they play host to the No. 20-ranked University of New Hampshire in a two-game non-conference series at the World Arena.
Faceoff is 7:37 p.m. MT Friday and 7:07 p.m. Saturday as UNH visits Colorado Springs for the second time in two seasons.
CC is 1-8-2 overall and 1-5-2-1 in the National Collegiate Hockey Conference after tying (2-2) and losing (6-2) at No. 2-ranked St. Cloud State University last weekend. Colorado College won a post-overtime shootout in the series opener.
The Wildcats, who split at then No.3-ranked Providence College last weekend, are 7-7-1 overall and 5-3 in the Hockey East Association after dropping a 6-3 non-conference decision to Harvard University at home on Tuesday.
Friday's series opener marks the 18th meeting between the Tigers and New Hampshire, with UNH holding an 11-5-1 lead in the rivalry. The teams skated to a 4-4 draw in their most recent meeting at the World Arena a little more than a year ago, on Nov. 23, 2012, when Colorado College roared back from a 4-0 deficit to earn the tie.
CC, which has played seven of its last nine games on the road, is home for nine of its next 13 through the month of January.
Despite their struggles on offense so far in 2013-14, the Tigers continue to rank among the top 20 nationally in penalty killing with an 84.1-percent efficiency rating overall (37 of 44) for the season.
