Box Score Colorado College put it all together at the World Arena on Friday.

The Tigers, powered by a goal and an assist apiece from seniors
Jeff Collett and
Alexander Krushelnyski, skated to a 4-2 victory over the 16th-ranked University of Nebraska Omaha that knocked UNO out of first place in the National Collegiate Hockey Conference.

Senior netminder
Josh Thorimbert backstopped the triumph with 23 saves while freshman winger
Alex Roos collected a pair of assists, including one on fellow rookie
Sam Rothstein's game-winning tally with 5:30 left in the second period.

Sophomore right wing
Jared Hanson also lit the lamp for CC, which improved to 2-10-2 overall and 2-5-2-1 in league play heading into Saturday's rematch with the Mavericks.

"It feels good," said Collett, whose deflection of a pass from freshman defenseman
Gustav Olofsson at 13:31 of the third period capped the night's scoring. "It's a big night for us. "Thorny, Krush – they played unreal. But it wasn't just us. It was a team game tonight. And, yeah, it was good."

The victory vaulted Colorado College past three teams and into fifth place all alone in the NCHC standings. Nebraska Omaha, now 8-7-0 overall and 5-2-0-0 in conference play, dropped into second, a point behind new league leader St. Cloud State University.

The Tigers, who never trailed, jumped out in front when Krushelnyski slammed home a goalmouth feed from
Jaccob Slavin that glanced off Roos during a power play at 11:14 of the opening stanza.

Thorimbert made his first of several huge glove saves with 6:30 remaining in the period, robbing UNO's Austin Ortega from the slot, but the visitors were able to pull even on a power-play goal by freshman defenseman Ian Brady at the 17:23 mark.

CC killed off a couple Omaha power plays in the second frame while clicking for a pair of even-strength goals to lead 3-1 after 40 minutes. Hanson retrieved a rebound of Collett's shot and wrapped it around the left post at 6:06. Rothstein upped the count to 3-1 at 14:30, shortly after the Mavericks failed to convert for the second time with a man advantage, when his quick shot from a bad angle on the right side hit a defender in front and bounced past goalie Ryan Massa.

Thorimbert flashed the leather to make another outstanding glove save on a backhand by UNO's Josh Archibald with 2:23 left in the period to preserve the 3-1 cushion.

"He's really matured this year," head coach Scott Owens said of Thorimbert. "He looks like a senior out there. He's unflappable. He makes big saves for us. He's got his glove working here a little bit and he's been playing a lot of minutes, so we're real happy with him."

The Mavericks pulled to within a goal when Zahn Raubenheimer struck at 7:25 of the final frame, but Thorimbert was rock solid the rest of the way in a game that saw Colorado College finish with a 28-25 edge in shots.
