Junior forward Rachel Herron scored in the 65th minute to pull Colorado College to within a goal, but the Tigers were unable to net the equalizer and dropped a 2-1 decision at the University of Nebraska in an exhibition game on Friday afternoon.
Herron collected a cross from senior forward Lynn Froetcher and found the net with a shot toward the far post.
Junior forward Mayme Conroy notched a goal and assist to pace the Huskers.
She set up a tally by senior forward Jordan Jackson 20:09 into the contest, then struck for what proved to be the game winner in the 54th minute after running down a through ball from junior midfielder Caroline Gray.
Sophomore Kate Scheele made nine saves during 70:54 in net. Senior Cody Kornack did not face a shot during the final 19:06.
Emma Stevens went the distance for Nebraska, stopping three of the four shots CC put on frame.
Colorado College opens its regular season on Friday, Aug. 23, when the Tigers visit the University of Denver for the Third Annual Colorado Cup.
