Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Colorado College set the program record for consecutive wins to open a season with victories over Austin College and the University of Dallas on Saturday.

Now the Tigers can concentrate on the best finish to a season.

Not only did CC extend its winning streak to 15 matches, it improved to 3-0 in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference and maintained a share of first place atop the league standings with Trinity University.

Colorado College used double-doubles from by sophomore outside hitter Emily Phillips, freshman outside hitter Abbe Holtze and sophomore right-side hitter Courtney Birkett to record a 25-17, 25-14, 16-25, 25-16 triumph over the 'Roos.

Phillips posted a team-high 15 kills and 12 digs for her seventh double-double of the season. Holtz finished with 11 kills and 13 digs to reach double figures in both categories for the fourth time, while Birkett accomplished the feat for the first time with 10 kills and 10 digs.

Sophomore libero Sophie Merrifield recorded 26 digs, her fifth match with 20 or more this season.

Shelby Eaves put down 22 kills to lead AC, but no one else on the team had more than three. The 'Roos are just the third opponent to take a set from the Tigers this season.

Colorado College used a 25-20, 25-20, 25-15 victory over the host Crusaders to eclipse the record of 14 consecutive victories out of the gate set by the 1985 squad.

Phillips posted 10 kills and 10 digs to pace the Tigers. Sophomore setter Devon Lucero hit .500 with five kills on 10 attempts, while junior middle hitter Kristen Liberty hit. 400 with seven kills on 15 attacks.  

Colorado College returns to Texas for four matches next weekend, including showdowns with Southwestern University on Friday and Trinity on Sunday.
