Sarah Schweiss scored 37 seconds into the second half to tie the score, but Marquette University regained the lead less than two minutes later and went on to post a 3-1 victory over Colorado College on Sunday afternoon.
Schweiss found the upper right corner from just outside the box after taking a feed from
Lynn Froetscher, who extended her points streak to a career-best three games. The senior forward also tied her personal single-season best with a third assist of the year.
Less than two minutes later, Mady Vicker chipped a shot over
Kate Scheele, who was on the ground after making an initial save on a shot by Vanessa Legault-Cordisco. CC's sophomore goalkeeper finished with three saves.
Senior forward Taylor Madigan added an insurance goal, her second of the game, in the 52nd minute. Madigan collected a cross from Legault-Cordisco and slipped a shot inside the left post for her fourth tally of the season.
Madigan put the Warriors on the board 27:43 into the game off a feed from Maegan Kelly.
Sophomore goalkeeper Amanda Engel stopped two shots for MU, which finished with a 16-8 advantage in total shots.

Jessie Ayers were name to the all-tournament team.
Colorado College slipped to 2-3 overall, with all three losses occurring against teams either ranked in the NSCAA/Continental Tire Poll or receiving votes.
CC opens a three-game home stand on Friday, Sept. 13, when Ball State University visits Stewart Field at 4 p.m.
