Mike Haviland a victory in his first game behind the Colorado College bench Friday night as the Tigers edged Alabama-Huntsville, 3-2, at The Broadmoor World Arena. Â

Bradley, a junior from Tampa, Fla., scored on a wrister from the right circle that eluded UAH goalie Carmine Guerriero after taking a drop-pass from fellow junior
Peter Maric, who picked up his second assist of the game on the play.

"That was a pro play by Cody," said Haviland, who took over the Tiger program in May. "He chipped the puck out of our zone and hustled fown the ice to take a nice pass from Peter and he just buried it."

Bradley's goal, the 11
th of his career, could not have come at a better time for the Tigers. UAH scored a pair of goals in the second period to even the score at 2-all and was keeping the heat on in the third.

CC opened the game with a dominating first period which saw senior
Aaron Harstad and freshman
Teemu Kivihalme notch goals for a 2-0 lead after the first stanza. Harstad fired a rocket from the right point that snuck past Guirriero on the power play just 3:45 into the game. Freshman
Garrett Cecere and Maric picked up assists on Harstad's tally. Kivihalme then scored his first career goal midway throught the period with a top-shelf shot from the left circle. Senior

Jordan Berger each earned a helper on Kivihalme's goal. CC held a 13-4 advantage in shots in the period.

The Chargers fought back in the second period as Brent Fletcher notched a power-play goal at the 12:11 mark, then Jeff Vanderlugt evened the score with 1:59 left in the period. CC outshot Huntsville, 13-8, in the period but couldn't find the net.

The Tigers found their legs again in the third period and put 14 more shots on Guerriero, who faced 40 for the game, while CC sophomore
Tyler Marble made 16 saves in his first career appearance. Fellow sophomore
Christian Heil led all players with eight shots, including four in the third, while junior
Hunter Fejes followed with six.

"I am really excited for our team," said Haviland. "I liked the way we competed and we showed great character in the third period."

The Tigers struggled a bit on the power-play, going 0-for-5 after Harstad's tally early on. UAH converted on one of its two 5-on-4 opportunities.

The two teams battle again on Saturday Oct. 11 beginning at 7:07 p.m.
