Box Score No. 10 Colorado College returned to Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play with a 25-22, 25-22, 25-18 victory over Austin College, Friday evening in Reid Arena.

The Tigers were led by sophomore
Abbe Holtze who earned her 13th double-double of the season with a team-high 10 kills along with 16 digs. Junior
McQella Adams also added 10 kills for the team in her career-high performance.
Senior
Kristen Liberty and junior
Kaimara Herron also gave a solid performance for the Tigers at the net with eight kills a pieace. Sophomore
Rebecca Watson ran the offense with 24 assists for a team high.

CC had 46 kills to outhit Austin, which had only 27 kills on the night. The Tigers' back row also came up strong serving seven aces, while picking up 57 digs.

Junior
Sophie Merrifield led the defense with 19 digs, while
Karina Guerrero added nine.

Austin jumped out to an early 6-1 lead in the first set and held the lead midway through until CC tied it at 13-13. The teams remained close with the match tied once again at 21-21, but an ace by Watson helped start a 4-1 run to give the Tigers the first set.

Down 6-5 in the second set, Adams hit a kill to ignite a 5-1 run that ended with a kill by Holtze to give CC possession of the set and later the victory.

With the final set tied at 13-13, an ace by Merrifield would spark a 6-1 run that gave the Tigers control of the game along with the sweep.

Austin was led by Madison Lee with seven kills, while Madi McVay led the defense with 15 digs. The Kangaroos dropped to 18-10 on the season and 2-6 in SCAC play.

Colorado College improved to 21-4 this season and 7-1 in the SCAC to remain tied for first place with Trinity University.

The Tigers return to action against Centenary College at 12:30 p.m. and the University of Dallas at 5 p.m. on Saturday in Reid Arena. Â
