Box Score Colorado College earned its fourth sweep in a row as it beat Johnson & Wales University in its annual Dig Pink match on Wednesday evening in Reid Arena. The ninth-ranked Tigers swept the Wildcats, 25-16, 25-18, 25-17.
 
CC was led offensively by sophomore Abbe Holtze and senior Kristen Liberty with 14 and 10 kills, respectively. Holtze also earned her 15th double-double of the season with 10 digs on defense.
 
The Tigers controlled the game with the Wildcats only having a lead early on in each of the sets at 2-1. CC took advantage with runs of at least three points to take the lead and never allowed Johnson & Wales any closer in each of the sets.
 
Colorado College had 45 kills on a .284 hitting percentage and nine service aces, while only giving up 31 kills on a .173 hitting percentage and two aces against Johnson & Wales.
 
Sophomore Rebecca Watson orchestrated the offense with 25 assists and added three kills and two aces. Junior Sophie Merrifield picked up a team-high 14 digs and three aces in the back row.
 
Junior Courtney Birkett made her first appearance in the third set after missing 18 matches due to an injury. Birkett earned three kills, three assists and three digs as CC hit a .333 attack percentage in the final set.
 
The Wildcats were led by Kelley McLain and Lizzie Michalski with eight and seven kills, respectively. Roni Gibbs grabbed 12 digs, while Kaleigh Hanrahan added 10.
 
Colorado College improved to 24-4 on the season as Johnson and Wales dropped to 14-12.
 
The Tigers will hit the road on Oct. 25-26 as it travels to Seguin, Texas to finish up Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play.
