This Week
Colorado College plays its first road games of the 2014-15 season this weekend as the Tigers face Boston College on Friday, Oct. 24 and New Hampshire on Saturday, Oct. 25. Friday's game at Kelley Rink in Chestnut Hill, Mass., begins at 7:30 p.m. (ET), while Saturday's contest at Whittemore Center Arena in Durham, N.H., is scheduled to start at 7:00 p.m. (ET).   

On the Air
All CC games in 2014-15, home and away, will be broadcast live throughout Southern Colorado on KRDO NewsRadio 105.5 FM and 1240 AM, featuring Ken Landau with the play-by-play. Pre-game shows start 37 minutes before faceoff. The broadcasts also can be heard worldwide via the internet. Friday's game will be streamed live via bceagles.com while Saturday's contest will be televised by Fox College Sports Atlantic (DirecTV - 608; Comcast - 171, Prism - 647).

Last Week
The Tigers played their first two National Collegiate Hockey Conference games of the season last weekend against third-ranked North Dakota at The Broadmoor World Arena. UND swept the Tigers 3-1 and 7-2. Junior Hunter Fejes (Anchorage, AK) scored CC's only goal on Friday, stuffing a shot past UND's all-league goalie Zane McIntyre in the second period. Fellow junior Cody Bradley (Tampa, FL) and freshman Teemu Kivihalme (Savage, MN) each notched his second goal of the campaign on Saturday.

A New Season ... A New Coach ... A New Era
For the first time this millennium, Colorado College entered a season with a new head coach. One year after participating in the inaugural season of the National Collegiate Hockey Conference, the Mike Haviland era begins at Colorado College this season. Haviland became the 14th head coach in the history of the program on May 9, 2014.  

76th Season of Hockey at CC
This season marks the 76th year of varsity ice hockey at Colorado College. This is the Tigers' second season in the National Collegiate Hockey Conference. CC was a charter member of the Western Collegiate Hockey Association (1951-52) for 62 seasons before joining the NCHC with seven other schools in 2013.

Up Next
Following this weekend's action, the Tigers are idle until Nov. 7-8, when they travel to Oxford, Ohio to take on the No. 10 Miami Redhawks in a two-game league series.  

For the Record
Colorado College is 2-2 this season after falling twice to North Dakota last weekend at home. The Tigers opened the campaign with a home sweep against Alabama Huntsville  … Boston College is 1-1 after defeating RIT, 6-2, in Rochester, N.Y., last Saturday. The Eagles dropped their season-opener, 5-2, to UMass-Lowell on Oct. 10. Friday night's game will be the Eagles' first home game of the season ... New Hampshire is 1-2 after splitting a pair of games at Michigan last weekend. The Wildcats, who will also play their first home game of the campaign against CC, lost its season-opener 3-1 to defending NCAA champion Union College on Oct. 11.

The Coaches
Mike Haviland (Elmira College, '90) is in his first season at the helm of the Tigers, came to Colorado College after serving one year as head coach of the Hershey Bears (AHL). Haviland was an assistant coach for the Chicago Blackhawks from 2008-12, helping the team win the Stanley Cup in 2010 … Jerry York (Boston College, '67) is in his 21st season as the head coach at Boston College and his 43rd overall. He is college hockey's all-time winningest coach with 964 wins and is one of only three coaches in NCAA history to lead two different schools to national titles (Bowling Green in 1984; Boston College in 2001, '08, '10 and '12) ... Dick Umile (UNH, '72) is in his 25th season as head coach at New Hampshire. He is one of only five active Division I head coaches to win more than 500 games (542) and he has taken the Wildcats to four Frozen Four appearances.

All-Time Series
Colorado College and Boston College have played 19 times with BC holding a 12-5-2 advantage in the series. CC defeated the Eagles, 8-4, in the last meeting on March 25, 2011 in the first round of the 2011 NCAA Tournament ... Meanwhile, New Hampshire owns a 13-5-2 in the series with CC after sweeping the Tigers last season in Colorado Springs, 6-2 and 3-0.

Scouting the Opposition
Boston College advanced to the national semifinals last season before falling to eventual champ Union, 5-4. Junior defenseman Teddy Doherty leads the team in scoring with four points (1g,3a) while sophomore goaltender Thatcher Demko has a 3.03 goals-against average in two games this year ... Seniors Grayson Downing and Dan Correale lead UNH with three points apiece. Downing is the team's active scoring leader with 79 points (36g,43a). Freshman Adam Clark has played every minute in net for the Wildcats this season and has a 2.02 GAA.
