Colorado College hockey coach Kris Mayotte announced that David Powlowski has joined the Tiger staff as an assistant coach and director of hockey operations.
 
Powlowski comes to Colorado Springs after spending three seasons as an assistant general manager and assistant coach for the Rochester Jr. Americans of the North American Hockey League (NAHL).
 
In his three seasons in Rochester, Powlowski worked primarily with the team's defensive unit and focused on scouting and recruiting, including leading the organization's draft day operations. He also signed player tenders, handled weekly travel itineraries and communicated with player agents and NCAA coaches.
 
"We are incredibly excited to add David to our program and welcome him to the Tiger family," Mayotte said. "Recent changes in NCAA rules allowed us to expand our staff roles, creating the perfect opportunity to bring someone of David's caliber and versatile skillset on board. His experience and knowledge will bring a wealth of value to both our coaching group and our players."
 
Before his time with the Jr. Americans, Powlowski worked in the medical field in Rochester after playing for the Macon Mayhem of the Southern Professional Hockey League for the 2019-20 season.

Powlowski played hockey and golf at Nazareth College in Rochester from 2015-19 before earning a bachelor's degree in biomedical sciences in 2019. He was a four-year letterwinner on the hockey team, collecting 53 points (28g,25a) in 100 career games and led the Golden Flyers in scoring his junior and senior seasons.
