Box Score No. 8 Colorado College returned to Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play with a pair of impressive wins against Texas Lutheran University and Schreiner University on Saturday in Seguin, Texas.

Sophomore
Abbe Holtze had a dominating performance in a 3-1 (25-19, 20-25, 25-21 25-23) win over Texas Lutheran to begin the day. The outside hitter had a career-high 30 digs and added 18 kills to lead all players and earn her 16th double-double of the season.

Freshman
Sarah Barker earned her first double-double of her career against the Bulldogs (15-10, 4-7 SCAC) leading the team with 39 assists and added a career-high 10 digs on defense.

Senior
Kristen Liberty added a season-high 15 kills to aid the attack for the Tigers, while junior
Kaimara Herron had a hand on a team-high five blocks to tie her career high.

CC had three other players earn double-figure digs to assist the back row:
Julia Lawton with 23,
Sophie Merrifield with 19 and
Courtney Birkett with 11 digs.

Colorado College finished the day with a 3-0 (25-19, 25-12, 25-16) sweep of Schreiner, while holding the Mountaineers to a meager .021 hitting percentage. The Tigers hit a .324 attack percentage on 46 kills and only allowed Schreiner (1-24, 1-11 SCAC) to earn 21 kills.

Birkett led the team offensively for the first time since being hurt with 12 kills and grabbed nine digs on defense. Â

Barker and Herron earned career highs against the Mountaineers with 41 assists and 11 kills, respectively. Liberty and Holtze also added eight kills apiece to support CC at the net.

Colorado College improved to 26-4 on the season and 11-1 in SCAC action to remain tied with No. 22 Trinity University for first place in the conference.

The battle for sole possession of first place is on the line on Sunday as the Tigers take on Trinity at 10 a.m. CT in Seguin, Texas.
