Box Score Colorado College finished the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championship in third place with a 3-1 (25-8, 14-25, 25-22, 25-18) win over the University of Dallas, Saturday afternoon in Sherman, Texas.

The 15th-ranked Tigers held the Crusaders to a .053 hitting percentage, forcing Dallas into hitting 29 errors. Â

Courtney Birkett, who was named to the SCAC all-tournament team, led all players with 12 kills while picking up a triple-double with 17 digs and 14 assists. This was Birkett's third triple-double performance of her career.

CC dominated the first set, hitting a .471 attack percentage with nine kills in 17 attempts with just one error. The Tigers held the Crusaders to just eight points on a -.200 hitting percentage.

Dallas came back in the second set holding CC to a -.022 hitting percentage to tie the match at 1-1.

The Crusaders held a 21-17 lead late in the third set, but a kill by senior
Kristen Liberty helped ignite an 8-1 run to hand the Tigers the third-set victory.

Colorado College controlled the fourth set with a .314 hitting percentage and only allowed Dallas a meager .050 attack percentage in 40 attempts.

Abbe Holtze aided the offense with nine kills each, while junior
Kaimara Herron added six kills and a team-high four blocks.

Sophie Merrifield anchored the back row with a team-high 22 digs. Holtze added 11 more digs, while freshman
Sarah Barker added nine digs to go along with her team-high 24 assists.

Colorado College improved to 29-8 on the season and will await the announcement of the 2014 NCAA Tournament Bracket, which will be unveiled on Monday, Nov. 10 at 11 a.m. ET. Â
