This WeekendColorado College wraps up a stretch with 10 of its last 11 games on the road this weekend with a two-game series against National Collegiate Hockey Conference foe Western Michigan, Dec. 12-13, at Lawson Ice Arena in Kalamazoo, Mich. The puck drops at 7:00 p.m. (ET) each night.   Â
On the AirAll CC games in 2014-15, home and away, will be broadcast live throughout Southern Colorado on KRDO NewsRadio 105.5 FM and 1240 AM, featuring Ken Landau with the play-by-play. Pre-game shows start 37 minutes before faceoff. The broadcasts also can be heard worldwide via the internet. Both games this weekend will be streamed live at www.NCHC.tv.

Hunter Fejes (Anchorage, AK) scored early in the second to give CC a 2-0 lead. After cutting the lead to one later in the second, UMD tied the game at 2-all with 2:53 remaining in the third period, then won it on a goal by Kyle Osterberg with 1:28 left in the overtime period. Junior

Scott Wamsganz (Anchorage, AK) scored 2:19 apart in the third period to cut a UMD lead to 4-2, but the Bulldogs scored three times in the final 10 minutes. Minnesota Duluth outshot CC, 43-18.  Â

Up NextThe Tigers are off for a couple of weeks before hosting the USA National Under-18 team in a pair of exhibition games at The Broadmoor World Arena on Dec. 27-28.
For the RecordColorado College is 3-10 overall and 0-7 in the NCHC this season following its two losses at Minnesota Duluth … Western Michigan is 5-8-1 overall and 1-6-1 in the league after claiming the Shillelagh Tournament championship in South Bend, Ind., Nov. 28-29. The Broncos defeated Ohio State, 6-2, in the first round, then routed defending NCAA champion Union College, 8-2, in the title game. WMU's lone win in NCHC play was a 6-3 triumph at Denver on Nov. 8 and it won a shootout against St. Cloud State on Nov. 15.
The CoachesMike Haviland (Elmira College, '90), who is in his first season at the helm of the Tigers, came to Colorado College after serving one year as head coach of the Hershey Bears (AHL). Haviland was an assistant coach for the Chicago Blackhawks from 2008-12, helping the team win the Stanley Cup in 2010 … Andy Murray (Brandon University, '72) is in his fourth season at Western Michigan and has a 64-49-20 record at the school. In his first year with the program, Murray led WMU to its second CCHA Tournament Championship after the Broncos defeated Michigan, 3-2, in the CCHA final. Murray has 10 years of NHL head coaching experience, spending six seasons at the helm of the Los Angeles Kings and four with the St. Louis Blues.
All-Time SeriesFriday's game marks the seventh meeting between the Tigers and Western Michigan. Colorado College holds a slim 3-2-1 advantage in the series, but the Broncos posted a 2-1-1 record against CC last season.
Scouting the OppositionSenior Justin Kovacs leads WMU and is tied for 12th in the NCHC in scoring with 14 points (1g,13a) this season. He is tied for third in the league with 13 assists. Junior Nolan LaPorte follows with 12 points (5g,7a). Junior Kenney Morrison and sophomore Chris Dienes are also in double figures with 11 and 10 points, respectively. Junior goalie Lukas Hafner has played in 11 games and sports a 2.23 goals-against average, good for sixth in the NCHC.
Bradley Continues to Lead CC in ScoringWith his two assists against Minnesota Duluth last Friday night, Bradley has recorded at least one point in seven of CC's 13 games and leads the team in goals (5), assists (5) and points (10). He has scored in six of the team's last nine games and is tied for 14th in the NCHC with five goals. Bradley scored the GWG in the season-opener against Alabama-Huntsville.
Wamsganz on Fire LatelyWith his assist on Friday and goal on Saturday, Wamsganz has a point in four of the last five games. He has three goals and one assist in that span. He scored CC's only goal at Denver on Nov. 14 and notched another against Wisconsin on Nov. 21. He has the second-best shot percentage (.200) on the team, converting three of his 15 shots.
Stoykewych Brothers Face OffSenior
Peter Stoykewych (Winnipeg, Manitoba) will play against his younger brother this weekend. Paul Stoykewych is a freshman defenseman at WMU. The last time a CC player played against his brother was during the 2008-09 campaign, when Mike Testwuide faced J.P., who played for the University of Denver.
