Last Time Out
Colorado College played a pair of exhibitions at home last weekend against the U.S. National Under-18 Team. The Tigers won a shootout (3-2) on Saturday after a 2-2 draw, then exploded for an 8-4 victory on Sunday. The games do not count on CC's season record nor do the individual stats ... On Saturday, Cody Bradley (Tampa, FL), Jaccob Slavin (Erie, CO) and Scott Wamsganz (Anchorage, AK) scored in the shootout while Tyler Marble (Detroit, MI) saved Team USA's final two attempts as the Tigers captured the shootout, 3-2. Jared Hanson (Palmer, AK) scored with 21 seconds remaining in the first period and Sam Rothstein (Minnetonka, MN) midway through the third, while Marble finished with 35 saves in 65 minutes ... On Sunday, eight different CC players scored and Chase Perry (Andover, MN) made 23 saves. Hunter Fejes (Anchorage, AK) led the Tigers with one goal and two assists while four of his teammates, Rothstein, Slavin, Wamsganz and Christian Heil (Westminster, CO), each posted a goal and an assist.

Up Next
The Tigers close out the non-conference portion of the schedule with a single game against the University of Connecticut in Bridgeport, Conn., on Tuesday, Jan. 6.

For the Record
Colorado College is 3-11-1 overall and 0-8-1 in the NCHC this season following an overtime loss and tie at Western Michigan on Dec. 12-13 … Providence College is 11-6-1 overall and 6-4 in Hockey East after winning the Sheraton/TD Bank Catamount Cup in Burlington, Vt., last weekend. The Friars defeated UMass, 4-1, on Sunday and ninth-ranked Vermont, 3-0, on Monday.

The Coaches
Mike Haviland (Elmira College, '90), who is in his first season at the helm of the Tigers, came to Colorado College after serving one year as head coach of the Hershey Bears (AHL). Haviland was an assistant coach for the Chicago Blackhawks from 2008-12, helping the team win the Stanley Cup in 2010 … Nate Leaman (SUNY Cortland, '97) is in his fourth season as the head coach at Providence. Last season, he led the Friars to the NCAA Championship field for the first time since 2001. The Friars have also advanced to the Hockey East Championship semifinals in each of his first three seasons. Leaman has a 53-45-17 record at PC and a 191-172-52 career record in 12 seasons as a head coach, previously coaching at Union College.

All-Time Series
Friday's game marks the 14th meeting between the Tigers and Providence. The series is even at 5-5-3 after Providence went 1-0-1 against CC last season.

Scouting the Opposition
Junior Trevor Mongoia leads Providence in scoring with 17 points (10g,7a) this season. Senior Shane Luke (6g,6a) and junior Nick Saracino (5g,7a) follow with 12 points apiece. Senior goalie Jon Gillies has played in 17 games and sports a 1.74 goals-against average, the ninth-best mark in the nation, while his .942 saves percentage is No. 4 in the country.

Bradley Continues to Lead CC in Scoring
With two goals and an assist in the series against Western Michigan on Dec. 12-13, Bradley has recorded at least one point in nine of CC's 15 games and leads the team in goals (7), assists (6) and points (13). He is tied for 11th in the NCHC with seven goals and has four of the team's 11 multi-point games this season.

Tiger Tidbits

-- The Tigers have killed 23 of their last 25 shorthanded situations

-- Wamsganz has a point in five of his last seven games

-- Perry made 35 saves in his last outing on Dec. 13 at Western Michigan, allowing a career-best one goal in a career-high 65 minutes

Wrapping up Second Long Stretch Away From Home
Since playing North Dakota in the final game of a four-game homestand on Oct. 18, the Tigers have played just one regular-season game at The Broadmoor World Arena (Wisconsin on Nov. 21). CC's next home game after last weekend's exhibition games is Jan. 16 against Nebraska Omaha ... However, after Jan. 16, the Tigers have only two road trips, to North Dakota (Jan. 23-24) and Omaha (Mar. 6-7), plus a single game at Denver on Feb. 21. The Tigers are 3-2 at home and 0-9-1 on the road this season.
