Waters leads CC to rout of Centenary

Box Score Sophomore guard Katie Waters poured in a career-high 25 points to lead Colorado College to an 83-58 victory at Centenary College on Saturday night.

It didn't take long for the Tigers to assert themselves. After the Ladies pulled to within 9-8 on a bucket by Rhonda Martin, Waters and Courtney
Tyus combined for 13 points during a 19-2 run that gave CC an 18-point lead midway through the first half.

Centenary tried to fight back during the second half, getting to within 47-37 with just under 14 minutes to play and then 58-44 with nine minutes to go. Each time, however, Colorado College scored on its next three possessions to regain the momentum.

Korbyn Ukasick finished with 19 points and six rebounds, while Danielle Davis added 18 points and seven boards. Davis reached the 500-point milestone on a layup with 10:18 remaining in the game.

Katie Wirth grabbed a career-high 10 rebounds and dished out six assists for the Tigers, who improved to 2-22 overall and 2-11 in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference.

Briana Edwards and Rebecca Thompson each posted double-doubles for the Ladies. Edwards had team-highs of 14 points and 16 rebounds, while Thompson finished with 13 points and 11 caroms.

Centenary dropped to 0-22 overall and 0-13 in league play. 

Colorado College plays host to the University of Dallas next Saturday in the final home game of the regular season.
