CC began its 30th season of Division I soccer by splitting a pair of contests last week. The Tigers dropped a 3-2 decision at the University of Northern Colorado on Friday night, but rallied to defeat No. 25-ranked University of Denver at home on Sunday.

The Raiders also will enter Saturday's game with a 1-1 record. Colgate lost at Boston College, 3-1, on Friday before bouncing back for a 1-0 victory at Providence College two days later.

Colorado College owns a 2-0-1 record in the all-time series against Colgate, with all three games being played in Colorado Springs at Stewart Field. The Tigers recorded a 2-1 victory in the most recent meeting on Sept. 16, 2012. CC recorded a 1-0 triumph on Sept. 1, 2000, and the teams battled to a 4-4 draw on Oct. 8, 1999.

The Tigers have been consistent at both ends of the pitch during its first two games, scoring and allowing an average of 2.5 goals per contest. Junior midfielder
Sarah Schweiss scored four of the Tigers' five goals and leads the Mountain West in goals, points (8) and shots (14). Senior forward
Rachel Herron is second on the team with three points.

While the scoring output was equal, Colorado College owned a decided territorial advantage, amassing a 37-12 advantage in total shots and a 13-6 edge in corner kicks.

Freshman
Rowan Frederiksen went the distance in goal during both games, and was joined in the starting lineup against Denver by two first-year defenders –
Ali Basom and
Anne-Sophie Lapointe.

After Saturday's match, CC plays six of its next seven games at home, beginning on Sept. 5 when the Tigers welcome Marquette University, the University of New Mexico and Weber State University to Stewart Field for the 2014 Colorado College Invitational.

The four-team tournament starts with Marquette squaring off with New Mexico on Friday at 1 p.m. The Tigers play host to Weber State in the second game at 4 p.m. The Lobos and Wildcats tangle on Sunday at 10:30 a.m., followed by CC and the Golden Eagles at 1:30 p.m.
