Box Score Behind a triple-double by senior
Courtney Tyus, the Colorado College women's basketball team began the New Year on a high note as the Tigers dominated in an 84-61 victory over Centenary College Friday evening at Reid Arena.

Tyus, the lone senior on the team, earned her first career triple-double with 15 points, a team-high 11 rebounds and 10 assists, tying her career high, in the first game of Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference action.

The hot-shooting Tigers, who drained 33 of their 70 shots from the floor for a season-high 47.1 field-goal percentage, held the Ladies to a 35.0 field-goal percentage on 21-of-60 shooting.

Junior
Danielle Davis led the team for the sixth time this season with 23 points. The forward hit 9-of-15 from the floor, while shooting 5-of-6 from the charity stripe. Junior
Katie Waters also scored in double figures with 19 points.

Centenary's Haley Deshautelle drained a three pointer 2:02 into the second half to cut CC's lead to 41-36, but Tyus dished a pass to Waters for a layup to spark a 27-8 run over a 10:55 span.

Tyus capped the run on a jumper with 7:03 left in the game to give the Tigers a 68-44 lead, their largest of the game. CC did not allow Centenary to pull within 20 points the rest of the way.

Colorado College (1-11, 1-0 SCAC) out-rebounded the Ladies, 53-32, its largest margin this season.

Centenary (0-11, 0-1 SCAC) was led by Briana Edwards with 17 points, while Linda Gomez Gil added 11 points.

The two teams will reunite for the second game of conference play on Saturday in Reid Arena at 4 p.m.
