For the RecordColorado College is 3-13-1 overall and 0-8-1 in the NCHC this season following its two losses at Providence … UConn is 5-9-4 overall and 3-4-1 in Hockey East after defeating UMass, 4-3, on Friday, Jan. 2 in Amherst. The Huskies split a pair of games at their own Frozen Holiday Classic, defeating the defending NCAA champs Union College, 3-2, on Dec. 27, then falling to seventh-ranked UMass-Lowell, 3-1, the next night.
The CoachesMike Haviland (Elmira College, '90), who is in his first season at the helm of the Tigers, came to Colorado College after serving one year as head coach of the Hershey Bears (AHL). Haviland was an assistant coach for the Chicago Blackhawks from 2008-12, helping the team win the Stanley Cup in 2010 … Mike Cavanaugh (Bowdoin, '90) is in his second season as the head coach at UConn. During his first season as head coach, Cavanaugh led the Huskies through their final season in the Atlantic Hockey Association with a .611 winning percentage and 15-9-3 record in the conference, tying them for third place in the standings.
All-Time SeriesThis is the first meeting between the two schools.
Scouting the OppositionJunior Shawn Pauly leads UConn in scoring with 12 points (2g,10a) this season. His 10 assists are twice as many as anyone else on the team. Senior Trevor Gerling (7g,3a) and freshman Spencer Naas (6g,3a) follow with 10 and nine points, respectively. Sophomore goalie Rob Nichols has played in all 18 games and sports a 2.24 goals-against average, while his .930 saves percentage is in the Top 20 in the nation.
Bradley Continues to Lead CC in ScoringWith a goal and an assist on Sunday at Providence, Bradley has recorded at least one point in 10 of CC's 17 games and leads the team in goals (8), assists (7) and points (15). His eight goals are a career-high and he is one point shy of his career-best 16 points, acheived last season. Bradley is tied for eighth in the NCHC with eight goals and has five of the team's 14 multi-point games this season. His last four multi-point games have come after he was held scoreless.
Tiger TidbitsMarble's 48 saves were the most by a CC goalie since
Josh Thorimbert had 50 in a 2-2 draw at Minnesota Duluth on Feb. 7, 2014 ... King scored the first goal of his career in his 20th career game ... Gerdes' two-point game on Saturday was the second of his career (2/15/14) ...
Scott Wamsganz (Anchorage, AK) has a point in six of his last nine games ... Gerdes and Rothstein each posted his first multi-point game of the season ... CC scored at least four goals in a game for just the third time this season (5 vs. Wisconsin, Nov. 21; 4 vs. Alabama-Huntsville, Oct. 18) ...

Five of Bradley's eight goals have been CC's first of the game ... Sunday's game marked the third time this season that Bradley and Fejes each had multiple points (at UNH, vs. Wisconsin) ... With three players each scoring his first goal of the season on Saturday, 15 Tigers have scored at least one goal this season. Â
Much More Competitive RecentlyDespite their seven-game winless streak (0-6-1) since defeating Wisconsin (5-2) on Nov. 21, the Tigers have been very competitive. Of the six losses, three have come in overtime and two others were by two goals. To highlight the recent competitiveness, in CC's seven-game skid prior to the Wisconsin game, the Tigers lost five of those by four goals or more. Â
Wrapping up Second Long Stretch Away From HomeIncluding Tuesday's game against UConn, the Tigers will have played 13 of their last 14 regular-season games away from home. Since playing North Dakota in the final game of a four-game homestand on Oct. 18, the only regular-season game at The Broadmoor World Arena was against Wisconsin on Nov. 21. CC did host the U.S. National Under-18 team in a pair of exhibitions, Dec. 27-28. After Tuesday's game, CC will play 10 of its final 15 games at home, beginning on Jan. 16 against Nebraska Omaha.
