Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Sophie Merrifield broke the Colorado College volleyball all-time career dig record, Saturday in Irving, Texas, as she helped the eighth-ranked Tigers sweep Austin College and the University of Dallas to remain undefeated in conference play.
 
Merrifield recorded 16 digs against Austin and a team-best 21 digs against Dallas to finishe the day with 2,199. The senior libero broke the record in the final set against the Crusaders with her 18th dig of the match.
 
The previous standard was set by Laura Goldsmith (2009-12) with 2,195.
 
Junior Abbe Holtze and senior Courtney Birkett also hit milestones during the pair of victories on Saturday.
 
Holtze became the 13th player to post more than 1,000 career digs when she earned a team-best 19 digs during the 28-26, 25-10, 25-17 win over the 'Roos.
 
The outside hitter finished the day with 13 digs against Dallas, giving her 1,021. She became only the fourth player in school history to record 1,000 career digs and 1,000 career kills.
 
With her fourth kill against the Crusaders, Birkett became the 10th Tiger to reach 1,000 kills. The rightside hitter currently has 1,006.
 
Colorado College beat Dallas in three sets, 25-19, 25-13, 25-19. The Tigers improved to 21-1 this season and 9-0 in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference with their 15th straight-set win of the year.
 
Sophomore Amelia Mouw earned a pair of double-doubles to aid the Tigers. Mouw picked up 10 kills and 15 digs against Austin and finished the day with team-bests of 11 kills and 15 digs against Dallas.
 
Colorado College plays Centenary College on Sunday at 11 a.m. CT.
