Tigers Split Against Ranked Foes

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 No. 8 Colorado College split its matches on the final day of the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh Volleyball Invitational in Oshkosh, Wis., on Saturday. The Tigers ended the tournament against two ranked opponents to earn a 3-1 record over the weekend.
 
Senior duo Courtney Birkett and Sophie Merrifield were each named to the all-tournament team as they led CC to a 25-2 record this season.
 
The Tigers began the day in a tough matchup against No. 12 University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.
 
The Warhawks held a 2-0 lead after winning the first two sets, 25-21, 27-25, but CC came back to knot the game with a pair of wins in the third and fourth set, 26-24, 25-17.
 
Whitewater took the edge in the fifth set with a close 15-13 victory.
 
Colorado College won its final match of the day in four sets against No. 17 University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, 25-18, 25-21, 20-25, 25-22.
 
Colorado College returns home to host the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Cross-Divisional Matches on Oct. 23-24. The Tigers begin the tournament against Southwestern University at 12:30 p.m. on Friday.
