Tigers Fall to Southwestern in Dual Meet

Results

The Colorado College men's swimming and diving team opened its dual-meet season Friday afternoon with a 220.5-40.5 defeat at the hands of Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference foe Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas.
 
The Tigers were led by freshmen Ethan Schick and Drew Ceglinski. Schick captured CC's only individual victory by winning the 100-yard butterfly race in 54.73 seconds, while Ceglinski finished second in the 100 backstroke in a time of 59.7 seconds.
 
Senior Yueyang Yu posted a second-place finish in the 100 breaststroke and finished third in 200 breaststroke. He joined Ceglinski, Schick and sophomore Dennis Zhang on the third-place 200-yard freestyle relay team.
 
Sophomore Ian Carey claimed a second-place finish in the 200-yard breaststroke, while Schick and Ceglinski finished fourth in the 50 freestyle and the 200 backstroke, respectively.
 
"Ethan Schick showed that he is the freshman to watch, winning a strong 100 butterfly today," head coach Anne Goodman James said.
 
The Tigers battle SCAC opponent Austin College and St. Gregory's University on Saturday, Nov. 14 in Sherman, Texas.
