Box Score The seventh-ranked Colorado College volleyball team finished in third place during the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Volleyball Championships on Saturday after beating Texas Lutheran University, 3-0, in Georgetown, Texas.

The Tigers outhit the Bulldogs with a .308 attack percentage on 48 kills in 117 attempts with 12 errors. Texas Lutheran hit a .114 hitting percentage with just 25 kills in 109 attempts with 13 errors.

Abbe Holtze and senior
Courtney Birkett each earned a double-double to lead CC in a dominate 25-16, 25-16, 25-14 victory.

Holtze, who was named to the SCAC all-tournament team, earned her 18th double-double of the season picking up 12 digs and a team-high 12 kills. Birkett netted her 12th double-double of the season with a team-best 22 assists, while adding 12 digs and nine kills.

The Tigers controlled every aspect of the game, while only falling behind once in the entire match when the Bulldogs took a 1-0 lead to begin the third set. Holtze earned a kill and a service ace to take the lead and the ensuing victory.

Sophie Merrifield led the backrow for the 29th time this season with 23 digs, while sophomore
Sarah Barker aided the team with 22 assists.

Myca Steffey-Bean each picked up nine kills for the Tigers as they improved to 34-3 this season.

Texas Lutheran (18-9) was led by Mackenzie Zamarrippa with eight kills. Kelcie Ingram added 13 assists and Megan Dugie led the team with 15 digs.
