This Week
Colorado College travels outside the state of Colorado for the first time since mid-October to take on the Western Michigan Broncos, Dec. 11-12, at Lawson Ice Arena in Kalamazoo, Mich. The puck drops at 7:00 p.m. (ET) each night. Both games will be broadcast in Colorado Springs on KRDO NewsRadio 1240 AM and 105.5 FM and streamed live on NCHC.tv. Saturday's game will be produced by American Sports Network and televised in the Rocky Mountain Region on Altitude 2 and Comcast Entertainment Television.

Last Time Out
Senior Hunter Fejes (Anchorage, AK) scored the game-winning goal with less than three minutes remaining each night to give the TIgers a sweep over Miami, 2-1 and 3-2, last weekend at The Broadmoor Wrold Arena. On Friday, Fejes scored twice in the third period, including the game-winner with 2:46 to play. Junior Luc Gerdes (Eden Prairie, MN) assisted on both goals and junior captain Sam Rothstein        (Minnetonka, MN) added the primary assist on the GWG. Freshman goalie Jacob Nehama (Allen, TX) posted his second straight victory with 20 saves and a career-best one goal allowed ... On Saturday, Fejes made the finish even more dramatic, notching the game-winner with just 1:13 left in regulation to defeat the RedHawks 3-2. Gerdes once again assisted on the play after forcing a turnover in the CC zone. Senior Cody Bradley (Tampa, FL) and freshman Mason Bergh (Eden Prairie, MN) also scored for the Tigers and freshman Andrew Farny (Steamboat Springs, CO) chipped in with two assists. Nehama made 34 saves for his third straight victory.

For the Record
Colorado College is 3-13 overall and 2-6 in the NCHC following the sweep over Miami. The Tigers have won three consecutive games … Western Michigan is 4-10-1 overall and 2-6 in the NCHC after losing a pair of games (7-0 and 6-2) at Minnesota Duluth last weekend. The Broncos have lost eight straight games since defeating No. 1 Nebraska Omaha, 6-1, on Oct. 31.

Up Next
The Tigers travel to Alabama Huntsville for a non-conference series on Dec. 18-19.

The Coaches
Mike Haviland (Elmira College, '90) is in his second season at the helm of the Tigers. He came to Colorado College after serving one year as head coach of the Hershey Bears (AHL). Haviland was an assistant coach for the Chicago Blackhawks from 2008-12, helping the team win the Stanley Cup in 2010 … Andy Murray (Brandon University, '72) is in his fifth season at Western Michigan and has a 77-69-25 record at the school. In his first year with the program, Murray led WMU to its second CCHA Tournament Championship after the Broncos defeated Michigan, 3-2, in the CCHA final. Murray has 10 years of NHL head coaching experience, spending six seasons at the helm of the Los Angeles Kings and four with the St. Louis Blues.

On the Air
All CC games in 2015-16, home and away, will be broadcast live throughout Southern Colorado on KRDO NewsRadio 105.5 FM and 1240 AM, featuring Ken Landau with the play-by-play. Pre-game shows start 37 minutes before faceoff. The broadcasts also can be heard worldwide via the Internet.

Scouting the Opposition
Junior Sheldon Dries (5g,3a) leads the Broncos in scoring with eight points. He is followed by freshmen Griffen Molino (2g,5a), Colt Conrad (1g,6a) and Corey Schueneman (1g,6a) with seven apiece. Senior Lukas Hafner (2-5-1) and junior Collin Olson (2-5-0) have shared the goaltender duties this season.

Previous Meetings
Colorado College holds a 4-3-3 advantage in the all-time series against Western Michigan. Half of the 10 games have gone to overtime, including three of the four last season and both in Kalamazoo. WMU won the Friday game in overtime and Saturday in a shootout.

First League Sweep at Home in Three Years
Prior to the sweep over Miami, the last time CC swept a league opponent at home was Nov. 9-10, 2012 against Bemidji State when both teams were members of the WCHA.

Three in a Row
The Tigers own their first three-game winning streak under Mike Haviland. The team's last three-game streak was from Feb. 15 to Feb. 22, 2014 (defeated Western Michigan once and Denver twice).

Upperclassmen Coming Through Lately
After scoring just five of CC's first 15 goals this season, upperclassmen have scored  nine of the last 12 goals, including eight of the nine in the team's three victories.

Friday's Comeback The First in a While
Friday night's comeback marked CC's first win when trailing in the third period since a 4-3 victory over St. Cloud State at home on Feb. 22, 2013.

Jacob Nehama Earns NCHC Honor
Freshman Jacob Nehama was named the Bauer NCHC Rookie of the Week. Nehama had the best weekend of his young career the with sweep over Miami. He earned his first conference win on Friday, making 20 saves while allowing a career-low one goal in a 2-1 victory as he was named the game's second star. On Saturday, Nehama turned aside 34 shots, the second-highest total of his career, while conceding just two goals in a 3-2 victory.

A Break From The Top 20
After playing 10 consecutive games against teams ranked in the top 20, the Tigers last four games were against unranked opponents. The eight teams CC has played this season have a combined record of 68-39-20, good for a .614 winning percentage.

Penalty Kill Stays Strong
Colorado College killed off all five of Miami's power plays last weekend and has erased 43 of the last 50 overall (86%) heading back to the second period of the Oct. 16 game at UMass-Lowell. The Tigers have an 80% penalty kill percentage for the season.

Scoring Brothers
Cody and Trey Bradley each gathered an assist on freshman Trevor Gooch's (Mantua, NJ) goal against UMass-Lowell on Oct. 16, becoming the first set of brothers to record a point on a CC goal since March 9, 2012 (Jaden and Rylan Schwartz). The two combined again last Saturday as Trey assisted on Cody's second-period goal against Miami. That was the first time one assisted on the other's goal.

Last Game at Home For a While
The Tigers played 12 of their first 16 games at home and will not play again at The Broadmoor World Arena until Jan. 29, 2016. In fact, 14 of the first 16 games were played in the state of Colorado, with road games at Denver and Air Force.

Consecutive GWG a Rare Feat
Fejes' back-to-back game-winning goals last weekend were the first by a Tiger since Nick Dineen posted the GWG in each game of a series sweep against Wisconsin on  Nov. 18-19, 2011.

Scoring Picked Up Last Four Games
Entering the Air Force game on Friday, Nov. 27, Colorado College had 15 goals and 27 assists for 42 points in 12 games. In the last four games, CC has 12 goals and 18 assists for 30 points. Four of the team's nine power-play goals have come in the last four games as well.

Nehama Records Most Saves in 18 Years
Nehama's 52 saves at UMass-Lowell on Oct. 16 were the most in one game by a CC goalie since Judd Lambert made 60 in a four-overtime victory (1-0) over Wisconsin on March 8, 1997. UML's 55 shots on Friday were also the most by an opponent since Wisconsin recorded 60 in that same game.

Tough Schedule This Year
Seven of Colorado College's 12 opponents this season are ranked in this week's USCHO.com Top 20 poll, including six that are ranked in the top 11. Five of the eight teams CC has already played, Boston College (#3), North Dakota (#4), UMass-Lowell (#8), Denver (#11) and Minnesota Duluth (#17), are all ranked in the top 20 this week.
