Colorado College aims to begin a new home-pitch winning streak this week when Iowa State University and the University of Cincinnati visit Stewart Field for a pair of non-conference clashes. The Tigers play host to the Cyclones at 4 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 4, and the Bearcats two days later for a noon kickoff. Â
Â
CC slipped to 1-2-0 overall and 1-1-0 at home after falling to the University of Pittsburgh, 1-0, in overtime last Sunday.
Â
Iowa State, a member of the Big 12 Conference, brings a 3-1-0 record into Friday's match after splitting a pair of road games last week. The Cyclones dropped a 2-1 decision at Long Beach State before rebounding for a 1-0 victory at No. 10 Pepperdine.
Â
Cincinnati, which plays its first road game of the season on Friday at Colorado, is a member of the American Athletic Conference. The Bearcats are 2-1-1 after battling Lipscomb to a scoreless draw and defeating Providence College, 1-0, last week.
Â
Colorado College and Iowa State split their only two previous meetings. The Cyclones posted a 2-0 victory in Ames in 2005, but the Tigers prevailed, 1-0, the following year at Stewart Field. CC owns a 3-0 lead in the series with Cincinnati, but the teams have not met since 1989. The Tigers posted a 5-1 triumph in UC's only previous appearance at Stewart Field.
Â
CC averages 0.33 goals per contest this season, while allowing 1.33. The Tigers' defense has been solid at home, compiling a 0.48 goals-against average in a pair of games. Freshman midfielder
Lauren Milliet (Durango, CO) leads the Colorado College offense with one goal and two points, and is second with six shots. Senior midfielder

Ten underclassmen have been in the starting lineup during CC's first three matches. Sophomores
Maddi Dunn (Auburn, CA),
Anne-Sophie Lapointe (Quebec City, Que.) and Mackenzie have started all three games, as have first-year Tigers
Anna Gregg (Sacramento, CA),
Madison Tominello (Monument, CO) and Milliet. Sophomore
Ali Basom (Enola, PA) and freshmen

Rachael Martino (Colorado Springs, CO) and midfielder
Kelli Sullivan (Sammamish, WA) have also been on the field for the opening whistle at least once. Newcomer
Clara Richter (Stockholm, Sweden) has come off the bench in all three games.
Â
After a trip to Ogden, Utah, to play Weber State University on Friday, Sept. 11, Colorado College returns to Stewart Field two days later to open another three-game home stand. After the Tigers play host to the University of Kansas on Sunday, Sept. 13, they wrap up their non-conference schedule with games against Cal State Bakersfield and Baylor University on Sept. 18 and 20, respectively.
