Box Score Chanisse Hendrix could not have picked a better time to notch her first goal in nearly two years.

Hendrix found the net in the 48th minute and that was just enough to give Colorado College a 1-0 victory over Utah State University on Sunday afternoon at Stewart Field.

The Tigers leveled their season record at 6-6-0 and improved to 2-2-0 in the Mountain West.

The senior midfielder took a touch from senior forward Dana Gornick and chipped a shot into the right side of the net from 12 yards out. Gornick settled Clara Richter's corner kick at the top of the box and sent the ball through to Hendrix.

At the other end of the pitch, junior goalkeeper Louisa Mackenzie made three of her four saves during the second half to record her second clean sheet in four starts.

It was the sixth shutout of the year for the CC defense and its fifth 1-0 victory.

Senior forward Jessica Brooksby nearly leveled the score in the 71st minute, but her direct kick from 27 yards away bounced off the crossbar and the Tiger defense cleared it out of harms way.

Early in the first half, a header by junior midfielder Wesley Hamblin eluded Mackenzie, but Gornick got to the ball an instant before it could cross the line.

Sophomore goalkeeper Grace McGuire stopped two shots for the Aggies, who dropped to 7-5-0 overall and 3-1-0 in conference play.

Colorado College travels north next week for Mountain West contests at Colorado State University and the University of Wyoming on Friday and Sunday, respectively.
