Box Score No. 22/25 Whitman College's quick start proved too much for Colorado College as the Blues handed the Tigers a 104-43 loss in the finale of the Kim Evanger Raney Classic in Walla Walla, Wash., on Saturday evening.

Undefeated Whitman jumped out to an early 18-0 lead with 3:55 remaining in the first quarter after Chelsi Brewer hit a three-pointer. Freshman
Jordan Meltzer scored the first points for CC 32 seconds later and scored the next five points to help the Tigers close out the quarter on a 10-9 run.

Meltzer scored seven of her season-high 16 points during a 1:27 span in the first quarter to cut the Blues' lead to 20-7 with 1:57 remaining. The guard led the team on 6-of-13 shooting from the floor for a 46.2 field-goal percentage and went 4-for-7 from the free-throw line.

Sophomore guard
Casey Torbet, who was named to the all-tournament team, added 12 points to aid Colorado College, while freshman guard
Nia Duplain led the team on the boards grabbing five rebounds. Â Â Â

Whitman improved to 9-0 on the season and was led by Brewer and Maegen Martin with 15 points each. Casey Poe chipped in 14 points, while Alysse Ketner added 13 points and a team-high eight assists. The defense was led by Emily Rommel with eight rebounds.

 The Blues shot an imposing 61.9 field-goal percentage on 39-of-63 shooting from the floor and made eight of their 18 three-point attempts.

Colorado College (1-7) takes on Johnson & Wales University for the second time this season in Denver, Colo., at 7 p.m. on Tuesday.
