The Colorado College men's tennis team dropped an 8-1 decision to Division II Metro State Saturday afternoon at Lifetime Fitness in Colorado Springs.

After Metro State swept the three doubles matches, sophomore
Jason Gutierrez posted the only victory for CC, a come from behind 4-6, 6-2, 10-6 triumph over Parker Jones at the No. 1 singles spot.

"Obviously, any time Jason gets a win he must play well and it is much deserved and today was no different," head coach
Anthony Weber said.

Daniel Holland almost rallied for a win at the No. 2 spot but fell to Porter Emery, 3-6, 6-3, 10-4. Metro won the other four singles matches in straight sets.

The Tigers are idle until their spring break trip to Orlando, Fla. CC will open the week against Clark University at 8 a.m. (ET) on March 11.
