Luc Gerdes put CC ahead 2-0 with a power-play goal just 47 seconds into the second period with a backhander that snuck past Kaskisuo. Senior
Hunter Fejes worked the puck into the zone and got it to Gerdes, who skated in from the right circle and flipped a backhander over Kaskisuo.
Cody Bradley also picked up an assist for his third multi-point game of the season.
The Bulldogs fought back to tie the game with a pair of goals by Farley at the 2:31 mark and Karson Kuhlman at 7:58 of the second period. Farley sent a shot from the top of the right circle that caught the upper right corner of the net on the power play, while Kuhlman collected the puck behind the net, moved to the front and went top shelf over freshman goalie
Jacob Nehama's right shoulder.
Iafallo gave UMD the lead for good at the 10:35 mark of the third period with a rebound goal of a shot by Dominic Toninato, then Farley scored the eventual game-winner with 2:42 left in the third by putting another rebound past Nehama.
Junior
Alex Roos cut the lead to 5-4 with 1:49 remaining with his second goal of the season after sophomore
Teemu Kivihalme's shot from the slot was saved by Kaskisuo. Freshman
Gregg Burmaster collected his second career assist on the play. After CC pulled Nehama for an extra attacker, Iafallo finished the scoring with an empty-netter with 33 seconds left.
Nehama finished the game with 37 saves, while Kaskisuo had 24 for UMD as the Bulldogs outshot CC, 42-27. The hosts were 1-for-4 on the power play and CC was 1-for-3.
The two teams wrap up the weekend series Saturday night at 7:07 p.m. (CT).
