The Colorado College men's tennis team played well but lost to Division I Northern Colorado 7-0 Sunday afternoon in Greeley, Colo.

The Bears won all three doubles matches to clinch the doubles point. The closest match came at the No. 2 position, where
Eric Schuermans and Jacob Sheldon defeated senior
Taylor Delehanty and sophomore
Brian Chen by an 8-4 score. Â Â

In singles play, junior
Jason Gutierrez almost forced a third set against Austin Mayo at the No. 1 position before dropping a 6-2, 7-5 decision, while Chen nearly won the first set at the No. 4 spot against Hayden Cramer, but ended up losing, 7-6(4), 6-1.

"Our guys competed well today," head coach
Anthony Weber said. "Some bright spots included Jason with a tight second set when he served about as well as he had all season and Brian playing a very solid and smart first set."

The Tigers (6-9) begin a three-match home stand on Friday, April 1 against Hastings College. The match is scheduled to start at 4 p.m., at Burghart Courts.
