Despite a pair of wins by junior

Daniel Holland, the Colorado College men's tennis team lost to Hastings College 6-3 Friday afternoon at Burghart Courts.

The Broncos opened the match by winning two of the three doubles contests. Gutierrez and Holland captured the No. 1 position with an 8-6 decision over Mark Gueswell and Leland Dexter. Hastings won the Nos. 2 and 3 spots by an 8-3 score.

In singles play, Gutierrez and Holland won at the top two spots for the Tigers. Gutierrez rallied to win at the top position, defeating Gueswell 1-6, 6-4, 7-6(6), while Holland downed Dexter, 6-4, 6-3, at No. 2.

Hastings won three of the other four singles matches in straight sets. Sophomore
Jack Benham extended the No. 5 match to a third set before falling to Zach Inman, 4-6, 6-2, 6-1.

The Tigers (6-10) continue their three-match home stand on Saturday, April 2 against Colorado Mesa University. The match is scheduled to start at 2:30 p.m., at Memorial Park in Colorado Springs.
