The fifth-seeded Colorado College men's tennis team wrapped up its 2015-16 season Sunday by winning the third-place match, 5-4, over No. 3-seed Schreiner University at the 2016 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships in Kerrville, Texas.

The Tigers (8-16) avenged a 5-4 loss to Schreiner University nine days ago by rallying from a 2-1 deficit to win four of the six singles matches.

Senior
Taylor Delehanty, playing in his final match as a Tiger, paired with sophomore
Brian Chen to rally from a 5-2 hole to win the last six games and collect an 8-5 victory over Isaac Vasquez and Josh Newman at the No. 2 position.

Delehanty then defeated Newman, 7-5, 7-5, at the No. 3 singles match and freshman
Daniel Holland (No. 2) and senior
Casey Shaw (No. 6) also won in straight sets. With Schreiner winning at No. 5 in two sets and Nick Pena downing CC junior
Jason Gutierrez, 0-6, 7-5, 6-2 at the top spot, the match came down to the No. 4 spot between Chen and Dayton Hancock.

After splitting the first two sets, Chen pulled out the third set to defeat Hancock 6-4, 2-6, 6-3 and clinch the match for the Tigers.

"Once again, our improved doubles play and seniors paved the way for us today," head coach
Anthony Weber said. "Taylor and Brian were down 5-2, then caught fire to get us the point we needed.  It was then a complete team effort to get the remaining four points. I am very proud of how our guys finished off the year."
Following the tournament, Delehanty and Shaw were named to the all-tournament team for singles, while Delahanty and Chen were selected as a doubles team.
