Â
Gutierrez, meanwhile, finished second on the team with eight singles victories and played all 22 matches at the No. 1 position. He was 5-1 in three-set matches, including a thrilling 4-6, 6-2, 1-0(6) victory over Parker Jones of Division II Metro State.
Â
In doubles, Gutierrez paired with freshman
Daniel Holland for six victories at the No. 1 spot. Holland earned a spot on the honorable mention team after leading the Tigers this season with 10 singles wins. Â
