CC Legend Ron Hartwell Passes Away

Ron Hartwell, Colorado College hockey's all-time leading goal scorer, passed away on July 20 at the age of 88.
 
Hartwell, who skated for the Tigers from 1949-52, scored 112 goals in just 74 games.
 
In 1950, he helped CC claim its first NCAA championship at The Broadmoor Ice Palace in Colorado Springs. The native of Swan Lake, Manitoba, earned a spot on the all-tournament second team after recording four goals and three assists in the tournament's two games.

He led the nation with 43 goals the following season as a junior.  
 
Hartwell, who is 18th on the school's career list with 170 points (112g, 58a), earned All-America honors in 1952 and was inducted to both the Colorado College Athletic and Colorado Springs Sports Halls of Fame as part of the '49-50 team.
