Colorado College closes out the non-conference portion of its 2016 schedule when UMass Lowell and Northern Arizona visit Stewart Field this week. The Tigers play host to the River Hawks on Friday, Sept., 16, at 3 p.m., and then NAU on Sunday at 11 a.m.

Fans can watch both of this week's matches for free on the Tiger Sports Network (

Â
CC is level at 3-3-0 after splitting a pair of matches last week. The Tigers completed their grueling run of five consecutive road games with a 2-0 setback on Friday at the University of Cincinnati before rebounding for a 1-0 victory over Utah Valley University in their home opener on Sunday.
Â
UMass Lowell slipped to 2-2-2 after falling 1-0 at home to Central Connecticut on Sept. 8. Prior to that, the River Hawks were 2-0-1 in their first three matches this month. The Lumberjacks improved to 2-4-1 last week after recording a victory and a tie last week at home. Northern Arizona defeated Illinois-Chicago, 1-0, on Friday and played New Mexico to a 0-0 draw on Sunday.  Â
Â
Colorado College and UMass Lowell are meeting for the first time on Friday. CC has won both previous meetings against Northern Arizona, including a 3-1 victory at Stewart Field on Oct. 11, 2002. In the most recent get together, the Tigers recorded a 4-1 victory in Flagstaff on Oct. 1, 2004.
Â
Colorado College, 1-0-0 at home, averages 1.7 goals per game while allowing 1.33. The Tigers are led by sophomore forward
Clara Richter, who has a team-high four goals and eight points. Sophomore midfielder
Lauren Milliet is second with two goals and five points, while senior forward
Dana Gornick has three points on a goal and an assist.
Â
Juniors
Anne-Sophie Lapointe and
Tanner Haughn (Colorado Springs, CO), along with sophomore
Anna Gregg and
Aleesa Muir anchor CC's back line which has recorded three clean sheets in its first six games. Freshman
Molly Hiniker is 2-2-0 in net with a 1.50 goals against average and a .700 saves percentage.Â
Â
Barely into her second season at Colorado College, Richter has demonstrated a knack for coming through in the clutch. Dating back to last year's Mountain West Championship, the super sophomore has notched all four of CC's game-winning goals. She scored the only goal in the 1-0 semifinal victory over the University of Wyoming, found the net twice during this year's 3-0 win over the University of Denver, and scored the only goal in 1-0 victories at the University of Pittsburgh and against Utah Valley University. Richter already has tied last season's total of four goals.
The Tigers' reward for playing their first five games on the road is being at home for nine of their final 14 regular-season contests. Last Sunday's 1-0 victory over Utah Valley, which was played on Sept. 11, was one of the latest season openers in the program's 33-year history. In 1991, Colorado College kicked off its home slate on Sept. 13 with a 3-2 to loss to Santa Clara University. On Sept. 14, 1985, the Tigers began their second varsity season with a 1-0 setback against the University of Missouri-St. Louis.
Â
Regardless of whether Colorado College plays at Stewart Field (grass) or Washburn Field (turf), the Tigers have enjoyed a significant advantage when playing at an elevation of 6,035 feet. With its 1-0-0 mark at home this season, CC now is 243-48-27 (.807) in 318 all-time matches on its own campus. That includes an 85-21-15 mark (.758) at the two venues during Bennett's 12-year reign as head coach.
Â
Colorado College kicks off its Mountain West schedule next week with road games at the University of New Mexico and San Diego State University. The Tigers travel to Albuquerque on Friday, Sept. 23, for a 7:30 p.m. kickoff, and then visit SDSU on Sunday at noon.
