Tigers Caged at Cincinnati

Box Score Colorado College closed out its grueling five-game string of road games with a 2-0 setback at the University of Cincinnati on Friday night at Gettler Stadium.

The teams were level at 0-0 until the 68th minute when junior defender Vanessa Gilles put the Bearcats on the board by knocking home the rebound of a corner kick.

Freshman midfielder Sydney Goines tacked on an insurance goal with a little more than two minutes to play when she scored in an open net after sophomore Jordan Cotleur slid a pass along the goal line.

UC finished with a 16-8 edge in total shots and a 6-1 advantage in corner kicks.

Freshman goalkeeper Molly Hiniker stopped four shots for the Tigers, who slipped to 2-3.

Cincinnati keeper Natalie Smith made a pair of saves on shots by CC's Lauren Milliet and Kelli Sullivan.

CC plays at home for the first time on Sunday when Utah Valley University visits Washburn Field for an 11 a.m. kickoff.
