Saturday's Game Notes
Western Michigan scored twice in the third period to collect a 4-2 victory over Colorado College Friday night at Lawson Arena.

The Tigers (6-15-2, 2-9-2 NCHC) rallied from a 2-0 deficit in the second period with goals from sophomore
Mason Bergh and senior
Matt Hansen, but Colt Conrad gave the Broncos (12-6-3, 6-6-1-1) a 3-2 lead just 2:04 into the third period.

Aaron Hadley then scored an insurance goal right after WMU killed a penalty at the 15:58 mark with a wrister from the left circle that beat CC goalie
Alex Leclerc on the short side.

Trailing 2-0, Bergh scored his team-high 12
th goal of the season at the 11:47 mark of the second period to cut the lead in half. Fellow sophomore
Cole McCaskill found Bergh hanging out at the left side of the net and he buried it past WMU goalie Ben Blacker. Senior
Luc Gerdes also gathered an assist on the play.

Later in the period, sophomore
Tanner Ockey was called for a five-minute facemask major penalty, and just as the penalty expired, senior
Matt Hansen took a drop pass from Bergh in the slot and roofed a shot past Blacker with 21.3 seconds left in the frame even the score at 2-2 and set up the third period.

"We showed some resiliency there in the second period," CC assistant coach
R.J. Enga said. "We kept our feet moving and had tem running pretty good. It would have been nice to capitalize a little more in the second but we felt we had the momentum entering the third."

The Broncos opened the scoring just 3:25 into the contest when Frederik Tiffels stole the puck at the CC blue line and fired a wrister from the left circle over the right shoulder of Leclerc.

The Tigers had three opportunities on the power play in the first period, including a 5-on-3 stretch for 27 seconds, but could not convert with their four shots. CC was 0-for-5 for the night and had 10 shots with a man advantage, while the Broncos were 1-for-5.

Griffen Molino gave the Broncos a 2-0 lead at the 5:18 mark of the second period with a power-play goal.

Leclerc kept the Tigers in the game with a couple of spectacular saves. He poked away a shot by Chris Deines early in the second period that went up in the air and was swept off the goal line by freshman defenseman
Cole Josefchak, then Leclerc stuffed Molino on a clean breakaway attempt with 7:20 left in the third.

The Tigers outshot WMU 27-16 in the first two periods, but the Broncos held a 16-7 advantage in the final frame. Leclerc finished with 28 saves, while Blacker had 32. Gerdes led all players with seven shots and Hansen tied his career high with six.

The two teams will battle on Saturday night beginning at 7:00 p.m. (ET).
