Box Score Schreiner University used a strong first quarter to hand the Colorado College women's basketball team a 73-47 loss on Saturday evening in Kerrville, Texas.

Schreiner's Codi Simmons and Cassandra Aleman combined for seven points to open the game and give the Mountaineers an early 7-0 lead with 7:47 left on the clock. Â After CC's senior forward
Korbyn Ukasick hit a jumper, Schreiner used the remaining 6:58 of the first quarter to build a 22-6 lead.

The Tigers were unable to rebound from the first quarter and trailed at halftime 45-20.

CC was led by sophomore guard
Payton Katich with eight points and sophomore guard
Casey Torbet with seven points. Ukasick and sophomore guard
Kaylyn Radtke led the defense with six rebounds each.

Colorado College's bright spot of the game was committing a season-low 13 turnovers, while forcing Schreiner into committing 17 turnovers.

The Mountaineers were led by Sabriyyah Fennell with 13 points and Alina Hillard with 11 points. Simmons and Dyamond Puebla contributed with 10 points each, while Jordyn Villa led the defense with 11 rebounds.

Shreiner improved to 8-11 on the season and 6-2 in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference, while CC dropped to 2-18 and 1-8 in the SCAC.
