Box Score Jenna Wilt could not have picked a better time to notch her first collegiate goal.
Â
Wilt struck with 35 seconds remaining in the first overtime to give Colorado College a 1-0 victory at the University of Nevada on Sunday afternoon.
Â
CC's first-year defensive midfielder took a pass from
Lauren Milliet and beat Wolfpack goalkeeper Lauryn Horstdaniel.
Â
Wilt is the first Tiger to score an overtime game winner since Sarah Schweiss accomplished the feat in the 2-1 win over the University of Wyoming on Oct. 4, 2015, at Stewart Field.
Â
It was the third time Milliet has set up a game-winning goal in less than three full seasons with the Tigers. The junior midfielder now is tied for the team lead with three assists this season.
Â
Colorado College enjoyed a massive advantage in the run of play and put 14 of their 25 total shots on frame.
Â
It was the most shots for CC since it launched 26 in a 2-0 win over Air Force on Oct. 31, 2014, and the most in a road game since recording 30 during a 4-3 win at Rice University on Oct. 17, 2013.
Â
At the defensive end of the pitch, Colorado College allowed just five shots, only three of which were on target.
Â
It was the fewest total shots allowed by CC since the 1-0 win over Wyoming in the first round of the 2015 Mountain West Championship in San Diego. It also was the fewest in a road game since holding Southern Miss to four in a 3-0 victory on Sept. 30, 2011.
Â
The beneficiary of the defensive effort was freshman goalkeeper
Jade Odom, who stopped all three she shots she faced while recording her third clean sheet of the season.
Â
The Tigers improved to 4-5-3 overall and 1-2-1 in the Mountain West.
Â
Horstdaniel made 13 saves for Nevada, which dropped to 1-11-0 overall and 0-4-0 in league play.
Â
CC concludes its run of four consecutive road games next week at Utah State University and Boise State University on Friday and Sunday, respectively.
