Box Score Lauren Milliet scored a pair of goals to lead Colorado College to a 2-1 victory over San Diego State University on Friday afternoon at Stewart Field.

Milliet put the Tigers on the board late in the 10th minute when she collected a through ball from sophomore midfielder Johanna Hamblett and sent a high shot from the right edge of the box past SDSU goalkeeper Gabby English inside the near post.

Less than a minute into the second half, Milliet chased down a long ball from senior defender Ali Basom, took a couple of touches and beat English with a crossing shot to the right side of the net.

The Aztecs caught a break in the 54th minute when they were given a penalty shot after CC was called for an inadvertent hand ball at the top of the box.

Senior forward Dani DeRosa slid the ball under the outstretched arm of freshman goalkeeper Jade Odom on a shot toward the left post.

Odom came into the game near the end of the 35th minute after starting goalkeeper Molly Hiniker was ran into by San Diego State's Aliyah Utush and knocked out of the contest.

Hiniker stopped one shot during the first half.

Odom made three saves during her 55 minutes of action and got some help from her back line, which played one of its best games of the season.

Colorado College improved to 5-6-4 overall and 2-3-2 in the Mountain West.

The Aztecs finished with a 12-11 edge in total shots and each team earned three corner kicks.

English made a pair of saves for SDSU, which slipped to 6-7-2 overall and 3-2-2 in league play.

The Tigers play host to the University of New Mexico on Sunday at noon.
