Tigers Fall at Kansas

Box Score The Kansas women's soccer team scored in the fourth and final minute Friday night en route to a 2-0 victory over Colorado College in Lawrence, Kan.

Lois Huechan put the Jayhawks (4-1) ahead 1-0 just 3:55 into the contest with her first goal of the season. Katie McClure started the play by taking a throw-in, moving to the center of the field and sending a pass between two CC defenders to Heuchan, who one-timed a shot past Odom from six yards to the far post.

Odom kept the Tigers in the game with four saves, including a couple from point-blank range, in the first half to keep it a one-goal game. She finished the contest with six saves, while Maddie Dobyns had three for the Jayhawks.

Grace Hagen added a penalty kick tally in the 90th minute after Heuchan was sandwiched and taken down in the box by a pair of Tigers.

"We played really well and stuck to our tactical plan tonight," Tiger head coach Geoff Bennett said. "We had chances to equalize the game against one of the better teams in the country. Tonight proved that this young group is right there with them."

McClure led all players with three shots on goal, while juniors Lauren Milliet and Rae Conlon and freshman Riley Prillwitz each had one for Colorado College.

The Tigers (1-3) return home to face the University of South Dakota next Friday, Sept. 8, at 6 p.m.
