Hamblett, Odom Help CC Forge 1-1 Tie at UConn

Box Score Johanna Hamblett notched her first goal as a Tiger and Jade Odom made four saves as Colorado College completed the non-conference portion of its 2017 schedule with a 1-1 tie at the University of Connecticut on Sunday afternoon.

Hamblett, a sophomore midfielder, gave CC the lead in the 18th minute, converting on a pass from junior midfielder Lauren Milliet and beating UConn freshman goalkeeper Molly Kerrigan.

Milliet, who extended her point streak to four games with the assist, leads the Tigers with three goals, three assists and nine points.

The Huskies tied the game with a little less than nine minutes remaining in the first half on Vivien Beil's second goal of the season.

Odom and the Colorado College defense were stellar again and now have allowed only three goals in their last four contests.

CC, which extended its unbeaten streak to four games, is 3-3-2.

The Tigers put four of their 11 shots on target. UConn launched 23 total shots, only five of which were on frame.

Kerrigan stooped three shots for the Huskies, who are 2-4-3.

Colorado College now leads the all-time series with UConn, 3-2-2.

The last time CC tied consecutive road games was 2010 when the Tigers played to 1-1 deadlocks at the University of Oklahoma on Sept. 5 and Utah State University on Sept. 10.

Colorado College kicks off its Mountain West schedule on Friday, Sept. 22, when the University of Wyoming visits Stewart Field at 3 p.m.
