CC Makes Quick Work of Dallas, Austin

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Third-ranked Colorado College made quick work of a pair of opponents on its first day of Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play on Saturday at Austin College.
 
In the first match of the day, the Tigers cruised to a 25-12, 25-17, 25-12 victory over the University of Dallas in just 64 minutes.
 
CC needed only 67 minutes to dispatch host Austin 25-18, 25-15, 25-18 in the nightcap.
 
With the two sweeps, the Tigers improved to 13-0 overall and 2-0 in the SCAC.
 
Against the Crusaders, sophomore middle hitter Marguerite Spaethling and junior opposite hitter Aria Dudley led the Colorado College attack with 10 kills apiece.
 
As a team, the Tigers hit .354.
 
Sophomore libero Anna Gurolnick recorded a match high 15 digs, while senior outside hitter Reagan Folaron and sophomore outside hitter Haley Harris also reached double digits with 11 and 10, respectively.
 
CC recorded nine blocked shots and held the Crusaders to a .030 attack percentage. Senior middle hitter Glenna Yancey led the Tigers with five total blocks, while Spaethling and Dudley each had a pair.
 
Mary Scholz led UD with 10 kills, while Krystyn Pua had a team-high 14 digs.
 
Dudley and sophomore outside hitter Jordan Mullen put down 11 kills apiece against the 'Roos.
 
Sophomore outside hitter Haley Harris recorded her second double-double of the season with 10 kills and 15 digs.
 
Gurolnick led the defensive effort with a match-high 17 digs, while Spaethling factored in six of Colorado College's seven blocked shots.
 
Mayson Kennon and Hannah Arbaugh recorded eight kills apiece for Austin.
 
Madi McVay produced a team-high 11 digs for the 'Roos, who slipped to 11-3 overall and 1-1 in conference play.
 
As a team, Austin hit .165, which was the second-highest team percentage against the Tigers this season.
 
Colorado College wraps up its first round of SCAC divisional play on Sunday against Centenary College.
