Box Score Colorado College was unable to keep up with red-hot Trinity University during the first quarter and fell 97-54 to the No. 13-ranked team on Saturday night.
Trinity shot nearly 62 percent from the floor while racing to a 37-13 lead after the first 10 minutes, and CC was unable to get back into the game despite staying with its hosts during the middle 20 minutes.
Sophomore forward
Evan Underbrink led Colorado College with 14 points and a game-high nine rebounds.
Underbrink connected on four of six shots from the floor and went 6-for-9 at the charity stripe. She came within one rebound of posting the first double-double of her career.
Sophomore guard
Jordan Meltzer came off the bench to score 12 points, reaching double digits for the third time in the last five games.
Freshman winger
McKenzee Gertz added 11 points for CC, which slipped to 4-10 overall and 1-2 in the Southern Collegiate Athletic conference.
Sophomore forward Abby Holland led TU with a game-high 15 points.
Freshman guards Julia Ackerman and Emily Daniels finished with 12 points apiece for Trinity, which improved to 9-2 overall and 2-0 in the SCAC.
Colorado College tips off a four-game home stand on Friday, Jan. 12, when SCAC co-leader Austin College visits Reid Gymnasium.
