Colorado College gave undefeated East Texas Baptist University all it could handle for 30 minutes, but the fourth quarter proved to be a different story.
The Texas Tigers outscored CC 20-5 during the final 10 minutes to record a 72-48 victory in the finale of the 2018 Rocky Mountain Thanksgiving Classic.
The tide began to turn late in the third quarter after Colorado College pulled to within 45-43 on junior guard
Jordan Meltzer's jumper with 2:45 to play.
ETBU closed out the period on a 7-0 run, including a jumper by junior forward Amanda Wilson with one-tenth of a second on the clock.
A three-pointer by sophomore winger
McKenzee Gertz from the right wing cut CC's deficit to 54-46, but the hosts managed only one more basket by sophomore guard
Jade Odom against the East Texas Baptist press.
Casey Torbet scored 15 points to lead Colorado College, which slipped to 3-2. The senior guard also dished out three assists and recorded three steals.
Gertz finished with nine points, while Odom added eight.

Nia Duplain grabbed a game-high eight rebounds and added four points.

Claire Sabin hit one of two free throws to give CC a 16-15 lead after 10 minutes.
East Texas Baptist stretched its advantage to 10 points midway through the second quarter, however Colorado College clawed its way back into the game on the strength of a 12-3 run and were within a point when Odom scored on a layup with 55 seconds to go before halftime.
ETBU led throughout the third quarter and took built a 43-35 lead then junior guard Kayla Bise dialed long distance with 5:16 to play, but again CC rallied with six straight points and were within two on consecutive possessions after baskets by Meltzer.
Wilson paced East Texas Baptist with 17 points and grabbed five rebounds.
Junior guard Kendrick Clark added 13 points and four steals for ETBU, which improved to 6-0.
In the first game of the day, first-year guard K'Lynn Lewis scored 19 points to lead St. Olaf College to a 97-77 victory over Johnson & Wales University.
Senior forward Makenna Ash posted a double-double with 13 points and a game-high 18 rebounds for the Oles, who improved to 2-4.
Freshman guard Brianna Bailey scored 25 points for JWU, which dropped to 0-4.
Colorado College returns to action on Thursday, Nov. 29, when it plays host to Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University at 7 p.m.
