Jacqui Hand, who will make her Colorado College debut this fall, has been named to the New Zealand side which qualified for the FIFA Women's U20 World Cup in France, August 5-24.
Hand is one of six forwards named to the 21-player roster by Gareth Turnbull, manager of the Future Ferns Domestic Programme (FFDP).
"We are thrilled that Jacqui gets to represent her country in a World Cup," head coach Geoff Bennett said. "We know she will be fantastic and we will all be rooting for her. Hopefully she will score a bunch of goals and carry that momentum into the Fall as a CC Tiger."
Hand adds significant international experience to the roster, including an appearance with the New Zealand 'A' Women's Team against Thailand in 2016.
She also competed with her country's U20 Women's Team at the 2016 World Cup in Papua, New Guinea, the U17 squad that played in Jordan and China in 2016, as well as the World Cup Qualifiers in Rarotonga, Cook Islands, in 2016.
The Auckland native also was on the New Zealand Football Ferns preliminary training roster for the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.
Hand currently owns 75 career goals, including 13 in international competition.
New Zealand, which will compete in Group A with France, Ghana and the Netherlands, won the Oceania qualifying tournament with a 5-0 record on home soil.
New Zealand plays its group stage opener on Aug. 5 against the Netherlands at Stade de la Rabine in Vannes.
Three days later on Aug. 8, New Zealand will face France at the same venue. It's final group stage game will be played on Aug. 12 against Ghana at the Stade Guy-Piriou in Concarneau.
The quarterfinals will be played Aug. 16 and 17 in Concarneau and Vannes, while the semifinals are scheduled for Aug. 20 in Vannes.
The 2018 Women's U20 World Cup championship will be played Aug. 24 at Stade de la Rabine in Vannes.
