Playing three games in six days with an injury-depleted roster caught up with the Colorado College men's soccer team on Sunday.
Despite controlling the run of play for most of the game, the Tigers saw their five-game winning streak come to an end when Southwestern University capitalized on one of its few offensive opportunities during the first overtime and escaped Stewart Field with a 1-0 victory.
Kip Karschnik stepped around a CC defender along the right sideline, took a couple of touches and put a shot inside the right post 5:21 into the extra session.
Colorado College finished the game with a 17-10 edge in total shots and a 5-1 advantage in corner kicks.
Two days after producing a season-high three goals, CC was kept off scoresheet for the first time.

Will Mallory resulted in shots by sophomore midfielder
Matthew Simons, senior forward
Daniel Krueger and senior defender
Henry Schuler, all of which were blocked by Pirate defenders.
Junior goalkeeper
Keller Mochel stopped three shots for Colorado College, which slipped to 5-2-0 overall and 4-1-0 in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference.
Sam Laude finished with five saves for Southwestern, which improved to 4-11-1 overall and 2-0-1 in the SCAC.
The teams will meet again on Oct. 14 in Georgetown, Texas.
