Box Score Darriell Franklin's unassisted goal late in the 42nd minute proved to be the difference as San Jose State defeated Colorado College in the Mountain West opener for both teams on Friday night.
Franklin's shot bounced off the crossbar and grazed the left post as it eluded the outstretched arms of CC sophomore goalkeeper
Jade Odom.
In a game in which the defenses allowed few scoring opportunities, the Tigers appeared to level the score in the 59th minute, but were offside on the play.
SJSU finished with a 19-10 advantage in total shots and a 5-2 edge in those on target.

Catie McDonald launched a team-high four shots for Colorado College, while senior forward
Lauren Milliet had three.
Odom made four saves for CC, which slipped to 4-3-0 overall.
Paige Simoneau stopped a pair of shots for the Spartans, who improved to 2-4-2. Â

The Tigers visit Fresno State on Sunday at noon PT.
