Box Score The Colorado College women's soccer team pushed No. 5 Texas A&M University to the limit on Friday night, but the Aggies scored a pair of second-half goals to thwart the Tigers' upset bid and escape Ellis Field with a 2-1 victory.

CC broke through late in the 55th minute when freshman forwards Jacqui Hand and Kiley Suter linked up on secondary action off of a free kick. It was the first collegiate goal for Hand, who played for New Zealand in last month's FIFA Under-20 World Cup in France. It also was Suter's first collegiate point.

The Tigers are just the second team to score on Texas A&M in seven games this season. Oklahoma struck for a first-half tally against the Aggies on Aug. 31, but A&M answered with three second-half goals during the 3-1 victory.

The Aggies leveled the score a little more than four minutes after Hand scored when Asdis Halldorsdottir dribbled across the top of the box and placed a shot from the arc into the right upper corner.

Texas A&M took the lead in the 71st minute on Rheagen Smith's header at the near post off of Kendall Ritchie's corner kick from the right side.

The Aggies finished with a 23-7 advantage in total shots, but just a 7-3 edge in those on target.

Jade Odom stopped five shots for the Tigers, who slipped to 3-2.

The sophomore goalkeeper made a terrific diving save on Addie McCain's header from the top of the six to keep the game scoreless midway through the first half.

Cosette Morche improved to 7-0 in goal by stopping two of Colorado College's three shots on goal.

CC finishes its two game trip to Texas on Sunday at Lamar University in Beaumont. Kickoff is scheduled for noon CT.
