Friday's game will begin at 7:35 p.m (ET), while Saturday's contest is scheduled for a 7:05 p.m. start. Both games will be broadcast in Colorado Springs and the Pikes Peak Region on KRDO NewsRadio 105.5 and 92.5 FM, and 1240 AM, as well as 93.7 KSBV (West of Pikes Peak). They will also be streamed live on NCHC.tv.

Last Weekend
The Tigers were scheduled to play a home-and-home series with third-ranked Denver to open the Battle for The Gold Pan. On Friday, due to adverse weather and travel conditions, the bus carrying the Pioneers was unable to make it to the Broadmoor World Arena and the game was postponed. The game will be played on Tuesday, Feb. 26, at the Broadmoor World Arena beginning at 7:07 p.m. ... On Saturday, Trey Bradley scored twice and Chris Wilkie, Mason Bergh and Bryan Yoon each collected a pair of assists as the teams skated to a 4-4 tie at Magness Arena. Despite holding a 7-0 shot advantage in the first overtime, the Tigers couldn't capitalize and each team received a point in the NCHC standings. Early in the 3-on-3 overtime frame, the Tigers had to kill a penalty, but did successfully and the game went to shootout. Brett Stapley, who scored twice in regulation, beat CC goalie Alex Leclerc, while DU goalie Filip Larsson stopped Alex Berardinelli and Denver collected the extra point. The Pioneers came out flying to start the game, collecting 10 of the game's first 11 shots on goal. Leclerc was sharp early, but Stapley opened the scoring 5:48 into the game. He took a pass from Les Lancaster and backhanded a shot to the net that Leclerc stopped, but Stapley put home the rebound. The Tigers tied things up when Bradley scored a power-play goal at the 8:43 mark. Grant Cruikshank took a shot from the right circle that was blocked in front and went right to Bradley, who beat Larsson from the slot for his eighth goal of the season. Later in the period, Lancaster was assessed a five-minute major penalty and game misconduct for a hit on Westin Michaud, and Michaud helped the Pioneers pay for it. During the five-minute power play, he found Trevor Gooch in front of the net and Gooch scored his eighth of the season to give CC a 2-1 lead at the 10:56 mark. The second period started much like the first, with Denver dominating the play and the Pioneers evened the game at 2-2 just 33 seconds in when Tyler Ward took a pass from across the crease from Liam Finlay and scored into an open net from the right side of Leclerc. However, just like the first period, the Tigers clawed back and scored twice to take a 4-2 lead. Bradley scored his second of the game after circling the net and placing a shot from behind the net off Larsson's skate for a 3-2 lead at the 13:41 mark. After DU's Michael Davies was called for hooking at the time of Bradley's goal, Wilkie fired a shot from the top of the left circle that Christiano Versich tipped past Larsson to give the Tigers a two-goal lead and their third power-play goal of the game. CC's two goals came on just three shots during the middle period. The Pioneers cut the lead to one at the 9:10 mark of the third period when Jarid Lukosevicius deflected a shot by Emilio Petterson past Leclerc, then Stapley tied the game with his second goal of the game with 6:39 remaining in regulation. Denver outshot CC, 32-28, but the Tigers dominated the special teams, going 3-for-4 on the power play and killing both penalties during the first 65 minutes.

For The Record
Colorado College is 8-12-3 overall and 2-7-2-0 in the NCHC following the tie at Denver last Saturday ... Miami is 9-11-4 overall and 3-7-2-1 in the NCHC after losing twice to Minnesota Duluth, 4-0 and 3-0, at home last weekend.

Previous Meetings
Colorado College and Miami have played 20 times, with Miami holding a 10-8-2 advantage in the all-time series. The teams split a pair of games at the Broadmoor World Arena in November, with CC winning 2-1 on Friday and Miami taking a 3-2 overtime victory on Saturday.

Tiger Tales
Michaud (8g,9a) leads the Tigers with 17 points, followed by Bradley (9g,7a) with 16 and Bergh (5g,10a) with 15. Bradley paces the squad with nine goals, while Michaud and Gooch each have eight. Yoon leads the team with 12 assists. Leclerc has an 8-11-3 record with a 2.73 GAA and .910 saves percentage. He is tied for the national lead among goalies with two assists this season.

Scouting the RedHawks
Josh Melnick leads the RedHawks with 19 points (7g,12a), followed by Gordie Green with 18 (9g,9a) and Derek Daschke with 16 (4g,12a). Ryan Larkin has appeared in 18 games in the net this season and sports an 8-7-2 record. He has a 2.40 goals-against average and .923 saves percentage. Jordan Uhelski is 1-4-2 in eight appearances this season with a 2.26 GAA and .926 saves percentage.

The Coaches
Mike Haviland (Elmira College, '90) is in his fifth season at the helm of the Tigers. He came to Colorado College after serving one year as head coach of the Hershey Bears (AHL). Haviland was an assistant coach for the Chicago Blackhawks from 2008-12, helping the team win the Stanley Cup in 2010 … Enrico Blasi (Miami, '94) is in his 20th season as head coach at Miami. He led the Redhawks to back-to-back Frozen Four appearances in 2009 and '10, including the school's first-ever berth in 2009 when Miami advanced to the national title game.

Up Next
The Tigers will play their first home game since Dec. 8 with a weekend series against Minnesota Duluth, Feb. 1-2, at the Broadmoor World Arena.

Nine Straight Road Games
With the postponement of last Friday's home game against Denver, this weekend's games at Miami will be the eighth and ninth consecutive true road games for the Tigers. That marks the longest such streak in program history. CC has played eight in a row on the road several times and played 12 straight games away from home, which included four neutral site games, during the 1965-66 season.

Three Straight to OT
The Tigers have played three consecutive overtime games for the first time since Dec. 12-13, 2014 (at Western Michigan) and Jan. 3, 2015 (at Providence). Prior to dropping the two OT games at North Dakota, Jan. 11-12, Colorado College had lost two overtime games during a weekend series only twice, Nov. 7-8, 1986, at Wisconsin, falling 3-2 in each game, and Feb. 27-28, 1981 at Michigan State (6-5 and 5-4).

Happy 80th
This season marks the 80th year of varsity ice hockey at Colorado College and sixth season as a member of the National Collegiate Hockey Conference. CC was a charter member of the Western Collegiate Hockey Association (1951-52) for 62 seasons before joining the NCHC with seven other schools prior to the 2013-14 campaign.

Coaching History at Maine
When the Tigers battled Maine on Jan. 2, it marked the first time in college hockey history that both head coaches owned a Stanley Cup ring as an assistant coach in the NHL. CC's Mike Haviland was an assistant with the Chicago Blackhawks in 2010, while Maine's Red Gendron was on the staff of the New Jersey Devils when they won the Stanley Cup in 1995.

Michaud and Bradley Nominated for Hobey Baker Award
Michaud and Bradley are among 81 student-athletes nominated for the 2019 Hobey Baker Award. The Hobey Baker Award is presented annually to the collegiate hockey player who best demonstrates strength of character both on and off the ice, contributes to the integrity of his team and displays outstanding skills in all phases of the game. Colorado College has had two winners since the first Hobey Baker was awarded in 1981, Peter Sejna (2003) and Marty Sertich (2005).

Gooch, Copeland Nab NCHC Monthly Awards
Colorado College captured two of the three monthly awards for December by the NCHC as Gooch and Ben Copeland were named Player of the Month and Rookie of the Month, respectively. Gooch closed out 2018 in strong fashion, leading the NCHC with both five goals and seven points in December to help the Tigers to a 3-3-0 record during the month. His five tallies, including one game-winner, also tied for fifth nationally in December, one off the NCAA lead. Gooch recorded two multi-point games and fired 25 shots on goal in the final month of 2018, which also led all NCHC skaters, while he posted a +3 plus/minus. Copeland, meanwhile, more than doubled his season points total in December, racking up five points in six games to lead all NCHC rookies in scoring during the month. He notched two goals, one of only two NCHC rookies to do so in December (along with teammate Grant Cruikshank), while adding three assists. Copeland's 0.83 points per game also led all NCHC rookies with more than one game in December, while his five points tied for fourth nationally among rookies in the final month of 2018.

Century Club Watch
With his two assists last Saturday at Denver, Bergh has 92 career points (41g,51a) and is tied with Gary Reinking (1976-80) for 87th place on CC's career scoring list. The last CC player to reach the Century Club was Alexander Krushelnyski during the 2013-14 season.

Not a Lot of Whistles
Colorado College is one of the least penalized teams in college hockey. The Tigers rank third in the nation for fewest penalties called per game (3.52) and fifth in fewest penalty minutes per game (8.57). CC was not called for a penalty against Vermont on Dec. 7, the first time the Tigers were not whistled since Dec. 14, 2013 at Wisconsin. Vermont was called for two penalties in the game, marking the fewest combined penalties in a CC game since that same contest at Wisconsin, in which there were zero penalties.

On the Air
All CC games in 2018-19, home and away, will be broadcast live throughout Southern Colorado on KRDO NewsRadio 105.5 and 92.5 FM and 1240 AM, featuring Ken Landau with the play-by-play. Friday's pre-game shows start 60 minutes before faceoff, with a 30-minute pregame show on Saturday. The broadcasts also can be heard worldwide via the Internet ... Selected games, including both this weekend, will also be available on KSBV 93.7 FM in Cripple Creek, Divide, Buena Vista, Monarch and Leadville.

Very Defensive in Eight Wins
In their eight victories this season, the Tigers have allowed 13 goals, and have given up 53 in the other 15 games.

Tough Schedule Again This Season
After playing 21 of its 36 games against ranked teams last season, the Tigers are at it again this year. Four of Colorado College's 15 opponents this season played in the NCAA Division I Hockey Tournament last season and 16 of CC's 36 regular-season games are scheduled against teams that are ranked in this week's USCHO's Top 20 poll, with 12 against the last three national champions (Minn. Duluth, Denver and North Dakota), the most of any team in the country.

New On-Campus Arena on the Horizon
Colorado College, in partnership with Colorado Springs' City for Champions initiative, has unveiled a proposal to build the Edward J. Robson Arena as an on-campus competition arena. If approved, this new facility with 3,000 permanent seats would become the permanent home of CC Tiger Hockey and, for the first time since the program's founding in 1938, the CC hockey team would be able to play games on campus.

Pikes Peak Trophy Comes to CC
With the victory over Air Force on Oct. 13, Colorado College claimed the Pikes Peak Trophy for the first time. In 2013, Colorado College and Air Force established the Pikes Peak Trophy in memory of the former head coach of both schools, John Matchefts. Matchefts compiled a record of 54-88-3 in five seasons (1966-71) at the Colorado College helm before posting a ledger of 154-150-6 in 11 years (1974-85) with Air Force. The Tigers now own a 61-13-2 all-time record against Air Force.

Mason Bergh a Candidate for Senior CLASS Award
Bergh has been selected as a candidate for the 2018-19 Senior CLASS Award for hockey. He is one of the 15 men's hockey student-athletes that were selected for excelling both on and off the ice. To be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must be classified as an NCAA Division I senior and have notable achievements in four areas of excellence: community, classroom, character and competition.
